Cigars & Cigarettes
"Moonlight Tobacco Co. is a subsidiary of  R.J. Reynolds. The thinking here is that if RJR spins off a successful sub, then that sub is free of liability in most of the cigarette litigation in the US. Liability obtains in those cases where a tobacco company advertised that they had a safe product when they knew they didn't, and before the US Surgeon General's health warnings appeared on packs. "
Tobacco Collectors
Cigarette Package Collectors' Corner "Collecting cigarette packs is a fun hobby.  There are so many interesting packs from all over the world.    If you are looking for a different kind of hobby, then you have found it!  Start collecting today!"

Up In Smoke: Cigar Band Collections "There are nearly 800 different vintage cigar bands currently displayed in the Museum, selected from my own collection. The cigar bands are displayed in exhibits contained in 12 different galleries arranged by general subject. Links to the Museum Main Index and to all of the Museum Galleries are provided at the bottom of each exhibit page and each gallery's index page."
Cigar Label Art "The use of tobacco as a creature comfort and would be cure-all was born many years ago. It would eventually work its way into the American culture and give birth to a unique form of art. This historical art form is being returned in modern times. The latest craze to invade the art world is one where commercial stone lithography has been classified as "Historical Art." Many cigar labels fall into this category. Cigar label designs were created to sell cigar to the smoking public to satisfy one of their many basic pleasures and the art form is reborn as an art collectible. "
The History (And Value) Of Cigar Bands "For many cigar smokers, the small paper band encircling their stogy is just a piece of trash, to be discarded along with the shrinkwrap around the box. But for others that cigar band is a bit of history - a collectible that adds immeasurably to the romance and mystique of smoking."
Value of Old Cigar Bands as Collectibles "Because cigar bands inherently were disposable items with no intrinsic value and were produced in huge numbers, as collectibles they have characteristics somewhat comparable to certain other types of paper ephemera such as matchbook covers or product labels."
Collecting Cigar Bands "People have been collecting cigar bands since they wrapped these little pieces of paper around cigars. Bands over the years have adorned billions of cigars. Unfortunately, as with most cigar art, most of the bands have ended up in the trash."
Collecting Cigar Boxes and Cigar Label Art "Cigar box and cigar label collection hit a frenzied peak in the mid to late 1990s with the cigar smoking craze.  Even common labels (those where a few thousand were found) were fetching very high prices.  When the ban on smoking in bars and restaurants came into effect, some of the frenzy subsided, but during this time, many die hard collectors were born.  Like any collectible, there is fierce competition to get the biggest collection or collect all of one subject matter. "
Cigar Box Art Collection "These are pictures of the labels from old cigar boxes "
Collecting Cigars "Cigar collecting can mean a lot of different things.  And since it covers such a broad category, I hope to cover as much ground here as possible.  The obvious choice of course is collecting cigars.  For this you will need a humidor."
Your First Cigar Humidor "This is because cigars adapt to their surroundings, absorbing their environment like a sponge. If they are kept in an ill-suited environment, they will age to be ill-suited cigars, disappointing both their parents and the person who bought them. On the flip side, however, is the fact that if cigars are placed in a well-suited environment, they will age to become well-suited for even the most seasoned connoisseur."
Seattle Pipe Club "We all collect pipes: if we have one pipe (surely unthinkable!) we’re a smoker, two pipes a “collecting” pipe smoker. I know absolute that if you’re reading this you’re of the later nobler category. "
OoOPS "The Organization of Online Pipe Smokers (OoOPS) welcomes YOU. If you are interested in pipe smoking, pipe collecting, or tobaccos, we offer these pages to inform you about our wholesome and delightful hobby. If you are informed and/or delighted by your visit here, we will experience a warm glow. "
North American Society of Pipe Collectors "The North American Society of Pipe Collectors was founded after a long evening spent over a pot of good coffee and more than a bowl or two of good tobacco.  Phil Bradford and Regis McCafferty decided that a club was needed in Ohio to promote pipe smoking, information sharing, knowledge of tobaccos, and fellowship with other pipe smokers. "

"Is it an adhesive bandage? A sheer strip? A plastic strip? A cloth strip? Only time can tell, and it can't seem to make a final decision in the matter...The prices of the boxes range from 47 cents to 59 cents, although some of the boxes have "33" scribbled on their lids. Price? Perhaps. It's kind of weird to look at all these boxes, not one of which has a UPC symbol on it. Unfortunately, none of the boxes have dates on them, but some are pretty easy to guess."

A History of Teapots
" The story of teapots begins with their necessity -- the development of tea and its regular consumption required an efficient, and later an aesthetically pleasing, vessel for brewing and drinking."
African Teapots "When I was in West Africa, I found these little teapots everywhere. I mean, everywhere. In mosques, in windows, doorways, stairs, furniture, and odd places in the streets. What I could never figure out is, why are they plastic? It turns out that these are not teapots after all. They are used to store water that is used to wash your hands after "personal" activities."

Carnival Glass from the USA "Carnival Glass is pressed glass which has an iridized surface treatment. It is made by exposing the newly formed hot pressed glass to sprays, fumes and vapours from heated metallic oxides. These form a lustrous coating at the surface of the glass. It looks as if it has rainbows on it, like the coloured patterns sometimes seen when petrol floats on water; like the rainbow colours on the surface of a soap bubble."
Early American Pattern Glass Society "...to foster and encourage the collection, appreciation, study, preservation, and documentation of early American pattern glassware, and its place in American life, past and present."
Goofus Glass Museum "Goofus glass was an exclusive, American,  phenomena. This is not to say that glass wasn't painted at times in Europe, etc. by anyone, but the massive production of cold painted pressed glass, or "decorated" as they called it, belonged exclusively to a few United States glass factories of the period.  Jewelry of all types being presented as "goofus" is a fraud.  People have been hand decorating jewelry all over the world with paint forever.  Painting of a hunk of glass does not make it a piece of goofus, anymore than putting a stripe on a rural road makes it a goofus road."

Bottles & Cans

Bottles & Cans

Soda
"Collecting cone top soda cans is a very narrow specialty of the broader hobby of soda can collecting. The soda cones shown in this Virtual Museum probably represent 85% of all of the different cone top soda cans produced during a rather narrow time span from 1938 to about 1955."
Collecting Soda Cans
Soda Machine Collections Commercial site. Lists, collections, and pictures
Soda Can Collecting "It doesn't really matter which can came first in 1938, the fact is that the citric acid in the drinks proved to be to much for the lining of the cans to handle so soft drinks in cans would have to wait."
Collectable Soda Cans "Fully updated, including known cone top caps and a growing display of advertising lids for many of the early cans."
Coke Bottles of the World Home Page "I now have approximately 900 different foreign bottles, and the following foreign bottle photos represent a small portion - I have many more countries than those shown, however, there are still a LARGE number of countries I need "
Chad's Dr Pepper Web Page " I have gathered quite a variety of items that are associated with Dr Pepper. I hope you enjoy my salute to an American original. "
Beer
"I have well over 10,000 different beer bottles in my collection now. I do have a few extras I trade or sell on my FOR SALE page. I do take donations in beer bottles and cash to help run this website. When I first started I was finding most of my bottles under bridges, by building, from friends and just about anywhere I could get them. At first they they just looked good sitting on my small shelves in my room. My whole family thought I was nuts. Now over 26 years latter my family thinks I am crazy. My wife is very good about my collection. My kids have no clue why I like beer bottles so much. "
Beer Can Collectors
Beer Cans World "We can collectors have our own language!   I'll give you quick lesson in beer can collecting lingo.  Just click here to visit my page on Beer Can Lingo.   You can even learn how to "grade" a beer can.  By grade, we mean how you determine the condition of a beer can and from that, I can tell you just how much that can is worth"
Association for British Brewery Collectables "The Association for British Brewery Collectables is the successor to the Association of Bottled Beer Collectors. Founded in 1983, the ABBC has represented the interests of bottled beer collectors since then. It was in 2003 that the coverage was widened to include all brewery collectables, in keeping with the broadening interests of the members."
Jeff's House of Beer Cans "The building and displays were constructed between 1998 and 2001 with the help of Jeff's father Fred, friends and other family members. The collection, which numbers in excess of 56,000 different cans, is now the largest of it's kind in the world"
Vintage Cans "I'm a collector first, but also enjoy the wheeling and dealing of cans, so I've tried to build a site that provides those things I like when collecting virtually: an uncomplicated shopping experience, more to look at than just trade inventory, and the opportunity to interact. "

Miniatures
"To the world of miniature bottle collecting. Our bottles are generally six inches or less in height and contain or have contained liquor and/or liqueurs. Our hobby includes miniature straights (like the little bottles you see on the airlines), including scotch, whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, tequila, cognacs, wines, beers, and liqueurs. Miniature blown glass bottles are collected by many, and feature (but not limited to) bottles by Rynbende, Bols, and Peter Hagen"

Miniature Bottle Collectors "The site includes an area containing lists and images of bottles from my collection. These are organized by category of bottle (for example Cognac, Liqueur, etc.). "
The Miniature Bottle Collector "In the world of miniature beer bottle collecting, it isn’t hard to pick up a Blatz, Schlitz or Pabst Blue Ribbon for your collection.
